Q: Are the Doberman puppies you produce AKC registered?

A: Yes every doberman litter is registered with the American Kennel Club
The American Kennel Club is the only registration club that traces the albino gene in Doberman Pinschers.  The reason that this is so important is because you do not want to purchase a z-factored Doberman ever. CKC (Continental Kennel Club) or any other registry such as APRI are not a reliable registry and register even cross bred dogs. Full AKC puppies leave with their AKC Papers. Pet puppies will not leave with AKC papers as we have witnessed limited papers being advertised by some and producing pups still.

Q: Are your Dobermans z-factored (albinism gene)?
A: No we do not breed or own any dog that contains Z factor (Z factor is albanism)

Q: Do you breed warlock or massive dobermans.
A: Absolutely not. First this is a "fad" word and no longer means what it did back in the day which was meaning to go back to the show dog "warlock" which was not even an oversized dog.
This is a tactic that unscrupulous breeders use to try to dupe families into paying extra for something they deem special. This is already a good size breed without over exaggerating them to the extreme and looking like a Great Dane. The Doberman is not bred to be a monsterous breed but a healthy active dog with the ability to run with a long extended gate and excessive size and weight is detrimental to the joints and hips and will shorten their quality of life.

Q: Do you breed American Dobermans or American/European cross?
A: No we do not and do not make the cross and do not own an American Doberman.
We specifically chose the European doberman Pinscher(Euro) over the American Doberman Pinscher (American) due to the fact that the American Dobermerman has become more of a pet than a guardian with breeding and so has lost most of its guardian instincts that were paramount to the breed. The European Doberman still maintains it size,  athleticism, fierce loyalty to its family and guardian instinct.

Q: How old are the parents?
A: the ages are on the pages of each dog

Q: Do you keep your dogs inside, outside, or in a kennel?
A: Our dogs are primarily inside dogs and sleep in our room at night and inside all day except in very bad weather which then they are outside only to potty and come right back in. During nice weather we have a large dog door from the house to the entire acreage and they have free range to run and be dogs and come back inside. Puppies are born inside our home and when old enough and the weather is cooperative then they play inside a very large outdoor pen . The pen is for their protection from hawks and getting into things they should not be into. Our puppies do NOT live on concrete.

Q: Is this the only breed you raise?
A: No we also raise AKDA Bulgarian Karakahans. many years ago we did breed and show frenchies but through the years our lifestyle changed and they did not fit into our active lifestyle as life changed and we were in need of a protection dog for ourselves and property. The dogs were spayed/neutered and placed into families that had previously gotten puppies from us and were in good standing with us as safe, long term homes and with the promise that if they ever had to rehome that we would be given them back.

Q: May I see the parents?
A: Absolutely in person or we are always happy to facetime.

Q: What does any health guarantee being offered cover or include?
A:  It covers the puppy the first year of life against major health issues. It covers the first 48 hours against Parvo so we ask that you have a vet appointment scheduled for the day of ideally or at least the following morning for a check up. The contract requires that the dog be spayed or neutered by 18 months and not be bred if going as pet only or gives guarantees for breeding quality dogs.

Q: Can I contact current owners of your puppies?
A: 2024 will be our first litter of European Doberman Pinschers. However we do have many references from our frenchie clients over the years from 2013-2022 on our facebook page under reviews.

Q: How do you socialize your puppies?
A: The pups are handled from birth and exposed to different sounds and environments until they go home. They are used to children handling them, dogs and household noises such as a vacuum cleaner, blenders, TV, etc. We start Early Neurological Stimulation at birth, nails are clipped weekly and they are held and handled multiple times a day.

Q: Do your dogs interact with kids or other animals?
A: Yes the puppies are used to being handled by children and interacting with dogs.

Q: Are the tails docked, dew claws removed?
A: The declaws are left on unless you specifically request they be removed prior to 3 days of age and pay for the puppy in full first because it is much more invasive to be done after 3 days old. Please see our other page about dew claws to see what our reasoning is and reference pages from vets as to the purpose and side effects of removing. The tail will be removed at 3 days of age on all puppies. (dew claws cannot be removed from the Karakachans as this is a breed standard)

Q: Are the ears cropped
A: The ears for the dobermans should be cropped between 8-10 weeks of age. You can have your vet crop or leave them natural if you wish but know that after 12 weeks the crop will no longer be an option if you change your mind as the cartilage will be hardening at that point. If you do not wish to have to deal with that we can have the crop done prior to pick up for the cost of the crop at our vet. The vet that we use is in Monument, Colorado and is a very experience Doberman vet that does an absolutely perfect job of cropping offering short, medium, med long and show crops. She does a laser crop so they heal very fast. This vet will repost the ears as long as it takes for them to stand for NO additional fee as it is rolled into the initial fee. If you are close by us we are happy to repost your puppies ears for a small weekly fee to cover the cost of materials and time if you come to us. ( We will NOT crop or alter ears of the Karakachans)

Q: My puppys legs are bowing out or going over the foot and looks funny what is wrong?
Answer: Bowing out of the legs or going over is called "knuckling over". This is very common in large fast growing breeds and is no need for panic. This is very easily and quickly remedied with a simple diet change and you can see improvement within a week on most when caught quickly. If this is left and not resolved with diet it can cause long term damage to the conformation.Flooring is also very important, you need to get them off slippery surfaces which might include tiles, floorboards, and newspaper, they need something for their toes to grip. Male puppies seem to be more affected due to their more rapid growth and that has been our direct experience with the breed. Online advice will give you conflicting information, one of the most common pieces of advice is to slow down growth by reducing protein in their diet, this isn't a terrible idea but if you decide to go down this track, be sure the diet you're giving is still a balanced diet.  The minimum protein for puppies is around 23% Dry Matter (DM), so do not go under this, it's not healthy and is terrible for muscle development - 24% in dry food would be fine and you'll find that in many large/giant puppy formulas and you can give to dogs of all breeds and sizes - contrary to popular belief, different breeds don't need special dry food just different protein levels for their growth. While the condition is generally self-limiting, affected puppies should only ever be on surfaces they can grip, this means they should not be slippery surfaces such as floorboards, tiles, smooth decking, newspaper, etc. Taking an affected puppy on a walk is not appropriate until it is corrected. Puppies should be kept on surfaces such as carpets, rubber mats, pebbles/gravel & grass. Whilst penning/crating a puppy may seem appropriate when the puppy struggles to walk, it is generally recommended that the puppy still moves about on these appropriate surfaces – caretakers should take a common sense approach and follow the advice of their Vet. Message us if you have any questions or concerns.

Q: Are you available for the life of the dog for questions/mentorship?
A: Absolutely. We want to do absolutely everything in our power to help families thrive with their new puppy and even happy to help find reputable trainers to start puppy classes.

Q: Do you require a deposit to hold a puppy?
A: Yes a deposit is required to hold a puppy until pick up. Deposit is $1000.00 for the dobermans or $500 for the Karakchans and does go towards the total due at pick up. Should anything happen on our end that causes the puppy to not be available for pick up such as injury/death or health issue we will refund the deposit. However, should you just change your mind on getting a puppy after placing the deposit the deposit will not be refunded. Depending on the circumstances it may be possible to roll the deposit to a future litter so absolutely communicate with us on what is going on if that occurs.

Q: Do you flight nanny or transport puppies if we are too far to pick up in person?
A: Yes we can flight nanny puppies to any major US airport or work with ground transport. There is an additional cost for flight nanny or ground transport and will depend on cost of flight ticket or transporter.

Q: Can you ship internationally?
A: We have not done this before but would be happy to work with a customer if this is possible into that country
(responsibility of the buyer to find if this is legal into your country and what all is needed to comply with laws, vet fees, quarantine fees, shipping fees, etc.)

Q: If I fly into DIA or Colorado Springs airport will you bring the puppy to the airport directly to me for me to pick up in person so that I can fly back home with?
A: Yes we have done this many times in the past and we are absolutely happy to accommodate this. There is no fee to meet at the Colorado springs airport and a $75 fee to meet at DIA due to toll roads and gas (it is a 4 hours round trip drive to DIA and back for us)

Please ask if you have additional questions that I have not covered above or if you wish for a more in depth answer.

Our major requirements are that you have an understanding of the needs for a large breed dog such as diet and exercise requirements. Apartments are not recommended but I have known of some that with dedication have manage but this is not recommended as they do need ample exercise during the day. We do want to make sure that you have approval for the breed and size of dog from your landlord if you rent your home and approval from other members of your family in your home. Please reach out with any questions.
