HELLUVA European Doberman

Breeder of AKC Full European Doberman Pinschers

We are a breeder in Calhan, Colorado .

We have been involved with breeding health tested AKC dogs since 2015 and showing in AKC conformation since 2013 before switching our focus onto the European Doberman breed, I had a Doberman as a child but went many years without one. When we acquired our place in Colorado we began researching and seeking out a personal protection dog that would fit all of our desired criteria such as coat length, ease of care, health, attachment and reliability with their family as well as many other criteria which led us back to the breed of my childhood. With time we have developed our program to fit the standards needed to produce a well rounded family and protection dog. Our main priority is ensuring the health, longevity and well-being of all our animals from birth until they leave with their forever family - and beyond. We fully (EMBARK) DNA health test and OFA every dog before using them in the program and then do the standard annual vet check ups to ensure that we produce only the healthiest puppies. Our dogs live inside our home with access to go outside as they desire via dog door. They sleep beside our bed on raised beds to get them off the floors but with full access to the house. They are active members of our family and in our home with us even on movie nights. They go to town with us, go out to eat with us and even go hiking in the mountains. Our dogs are treated as part of the family and are very loved here. We proudly back every puppy we produce with our health guarantee.  See more by clicking the tabs above or see more about our upcoming/available puppies by clicking here.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to produce health tested clear, mentally stable AKC European Doberman Pinschers

for family pets , property/personal protection and working dog without losing the beauty of the proper FCI & AKC conformation of the breed.

Parents are health tested prior to producing puppies to ensure that we do not pass on any genetics health conditions

We start all puppies with early neurological stimulation

Puppies have their nails trimmed weekly to ensure they are used to their feet being handled as they grow

Puppies are continued on with puppy culture

Puppies are bathed regularly to ensure they are used to the stimulation of being soaped up, rinsed and the sound of a tub/shower head running.

Puppies are temperament tested to ensure that they are placed into the appropriate homes for their personality

We do leave the dew claws as nature intended due to multiple studies and that were pointed out by our doberman specialist vet that show a direct correlation between dew claw removal and early onset osteoarthritis in the elbows as the dog ages as there is a major ligament attached to the dew claw that must be severed to remove the declaw from the leg.

Doberman puppies tails are docked by our doberman specialist vet at the 2nd vertebra at 2-3 days old under local anesthetic.

Ears on our doberman puppies are cropped by our doberman specialist veterinarian at 7 weeks old unless the family requests natural ears prior to that date and have placed a deposit.
